Welp, it's official– I'll be joining on with Apple has an Interactive Art Director and relocating [back] up to the bay area. This is a bit of a surreal move as I, like many other people, are quite big fanboys of the brand, and appreciate their focus on design in all it's forms. It's rare to find companies out there who place such an emphasis on design, and make a large effort to support it from all sides.
Quite the bittersweet moment for me as it's undoubtedly a great opportunity, but the decision to part ways with all the great people at BASIC and leave the SD area is not something that was taken lightly. The sheer quantity of relocations I've had in the past 5 years might lead you to believe otherwise, but this is the first time a move was not sought after in some form. I knew it was going to take something quite substantial for me to part ways with the people and places that are so near and dear to me, but sometimes the stars just align in such way that you can't ignore.
So as you likely know, Apple has a penchant for secrecy and my ability to post anything I work on will be... non-existent. That being said, I've gotten motivated to get back into photography more and making the investment in a quality camera. I'm currently looking through some options, but I look forward to what I can capture with a camera outside of my iPhone or an archaic Canon Digital Rebel putting out 6.1 whole mega-pixels (or there about). The only other side work I will continue to post will be my work with Paragon– I'm really hoping to push that brand into some cool places, so I'll likely post that more here.
So with the photo journal, I'm hoping to keep a much better cadence with my postings. I also feel Apple will provide a little more stability in my work schedule so I'll have the ability to make these posts happen.
